From all over the world people flock to Rome to experience the Italian beauty, life, culture and food - “La Dolce Vita” the good life. Rome is a city richly ornamented with ancient architecture and art. But most tourists are unaware that around 7000 homeless people live within the historic centre. These people have come to Rome simply in search of a better life. My body of work provided me with an opportunity to connect with these people and learn about who they really are and where they come from. My aim is to confront the audience, reveal the innocence and struggle these people have living or working on the streets. I wanted to expose a side of the Eternal City most of us are unfamiliar with.
